As part of monitoring the level of market preparedness and the arrangements made by merchants as the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Governor of Nabeul, Mrs. Hana Chouchani, visited on Thursday, February 19, 2026, both a large supermarket and the daily market of Nabeul.

She inspected the various aisles, ensuring the availability of products, notably agricultural foodstuffs, red and white meats, as well as fish, while also checking the displayed prices.

This visit took place in the presence of the Nabeul delegate, the regional director of Trade, the teams from economic control and the National Authority for the Sanitary Safety of Food Products, supported by security services.

Listening to the concerns raised by several citizens and merchants operating at the market, the governor stressed the importance of complying with sanitary storage and display conditions for products, as well as the strict enforcement of legal prices in force.

She also underscored the need to intensify controls to preserve citizens’ purchasing power in the face of any abusive price increases or monopolistic practices.

Mrs. Chouchani furthermore noted the diversity and abundance of the supply for the majority of agricultural products, as well as the reasonable level of prices charged. She encouraged healthy competition, guaranteeing the availability of quality products at studied prices, reaffirming the imperative of ensuring regular supply and meeting consumer needs without interruption.
