In a new step aimed at supporting the modernization and digitalization of port and logistics services in Tunisia, the business federation CONECT announced the launch of the first digital platform dedicated to calculating the stay and guarding fees for goods in Tunisian ports, via a unified website.
A Digital Platform to Facilitate Economic Life
This platform aims to simplify procedures for the benefit of economic operators, by allowing them to access the real costs related to the stay of their goods inside the port, instantly and remotely. The initiative thus seeks to reduce administrative burden, while limiting time losses and the costs involved.
Thanks to this new digital tool, operators can now calculate remotely the stay charges for their goods in Tunisian ports, without having to travel on-site or wait for the information to be communicated.
The platform also provides access to useful data, notably the value of the goods and the number of days of stay at the quay, in order to improve financial planning and accelerate decision-making.
A Partnership with the Tunisian Stevedoring and Handling Company
According to the information released, this initiative is the result of cooperation between CONECT and the Tunisian Stevedoring and Handling Company. It is part of an approach aimed at streamlining processes, strengthening transparency about the costs of port services, and supporting the business climate, while improving logistical efficiency.
Towards a Federating Platform
Rim Abd El Kafi, vice-president of the National Transport and Logistics Cluster within CONECT, indicated that the platform will undergo continuous development, in partnership with the various actors in transport and logistics. The objective, she said, is to make it a federating platform enabling economic operators and investors to access information in a simple and efficient manner.
This platform should contribute to improving the quality of services and to reducing the level of uncertainty around the charges applied, thereby strengthening the performance of Tunisian ports and their role in supply chains, at a time when the demand for digital solutions adapted to the evolutions of trade and logistics continues to grow.
