The municipality of Jebeniana (Sfax Governorate) has launched a project to rehabilitate its headquarters at an estimated cost of about 438 million Tunisian dinars, said Atef Larbi, the municipality’s chief engineer. According to him, the works are expected to be completed during the month of April 2026.
A Construction Project Expected Since the Year 2000
The official noted that the Jebeniana Municipal Palace had not undergone any rehabilitation since the year 2000, making this intervention necessary to improve working conditions and the quality of services provided to citizens.
Modernization of the Civil Registry Service
The works, he added, specifically involve the rehabilitation and modernization of the civil registry service, with the aim of updating the organization and improving administrative services.
Workspaces Adapted for More Than 50 Officials
The project also aims to provide workspaces better suited to municipal employees, since the workforce exceeds 50 staff, including executives and workers, the same source stressed.
Beyond the internal arrangements, the rehabilitation also covers the exterior facade of the municipal palace, in order to improve the image of the public service and the overall appearance of the building.
