The Tunisian Company for Electricity and Gas (STEG) organized, this Tuesday, March 31, 2026 in Tunis, an information day dedicated to presenting the progress of the Smart Grid project for electricity and gas in Tunisia.

On this occasion, Tunisia Digital invited Jasser Jebabli, Senior Manager at SIA, one of the technical partners of the Smart Grid project.

Jasser Jebabli stated that SIA supports STEG in steering and managing this transformation project, as well as in setting up an infrastructure enabling the client to benefit from estimated billing and real billing.

“The new meter allows sending daily to STEG the various data related to the customer’s consumption. In the Arab world and Africa, Tunisia is the first African country to adopt and install 80 smart meters. STEG has demonstrated its ability to modernize its system to meet the different expectations of its customers. This project aims to improve the company’s performance,” explains Jasser Jebabli.
