The Ministry of Cultural Affairs announced, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, the official integration of the Chedly-Klibi Cultural City and the Carthage Musical Days into the Silk Road International Network of Arts Festivals (The Network of Silk Road Arts Festivals). This new accession marks another step in promoting Tunisian culture on the international stage and enriches the portfolio of Tunisian cultural institutions and events engaged in initiatives of cooperation and international cultural exchange.
Membership certificates are issued by the steering committee of the Silk Road International Network of Arts Festivals, in collaboration with the Centre of the Shanghai International Arts Festival, in China.
This new membership adds to the presence of the Carthage Theatre Days and the Carthage International Festival within the same network. The Ossu Festival and the Oasis Festival of Tozeur also feature there, as events endowed with a distinct identity and particular characteristics. This presence testifies to the richness and diversity of the Tunisian cultural landscape, which encompasses both contemporary artistic manifestations and festivals deeply rooted in local memory and heritage.
The Ministry of Cultural Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to all initiatives contributing to strengthen Tunisia’s cultural presence on the international stage and to reinforcing its status as a space of creation, diversity, and a meeting place between cultures.
The growing presence of Tunisian cultural institutions and events within international networks confirms the essential role of culture as a bridge between peoples, a space for dialogue and exchange of experiences, but also a means of preserving cultural specificities and making them known on an international scale.
This dynamic also promotes the opening of Tunisian cultural actors to new experiences and the development of partnerships likely to contribute to the longevity of festivals and the broadening of their influence, according to a statement published by the ministry on Saturday evening.
