The Tunis Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans to create a Center for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, as part of developing the services offered to businesses and economic operators, as well as strengthening alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for commercial disputes.
To this end, the Chamber has announced the opening of a consultation to select an expert firm or specialized expert to assist it in designing and implementing this new structure.
The future center will be tasked with handling commercial disputes in accordance with best national and international practices, prioritizing faster, more flexible solutions tailored to the needs of businesses.
A project within the legal framework
The Tunis Chamber of Commerce and Industry clarified that this initiative falls within the legal prerogatives granted to it in the field of resolving commercial disputes.
The project rests in particular on the provisions of Law No. 2006-75 of November 30, 2006 relating to chambers of commerce and industry.
This text authorizes these institutions to contribute to the settlement of commercial disputes and to take initiatives in the areas of conciliation, mediation and arbitration at regional, national and international levels.
An expert charged with preparing the technical and organizational aspects
The selected expert or the firm will be tasked with preparing the various technical, legal and organizational components necessary for the creation of the center.
This mission must be carried out in accordance with the terms of reference established by the Tunis Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Interested candidates are invited to submit their technical and financial offers separately.
The deadline for receiving dossiers has been set for August 7, 2026 at 13:30. Offers must be submitted to the filing office at the headquarters of the Tunis Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
An alternative to judicial recourse
This initiative comes in a context marked by the Chamber’s willingness to provide businesses with an institutional mechanism specialized in out-of-court settlement of commercial disputes.
The creation of this center should help improve the business climate, by offering businesses and economic operators faster and more flexible procedures than traditional judicial channels.
