Tunis Stock Exchange: Tunindex Falls 0.26%, SOTRAPIL Surges 5.97%

The The Tunis Stock Exchange closed Thursday, August 27, 2026 in the red. The Tunindex fell 0.26% to finish at 19,481.18 points, while still posting a year-to-date gain of 44.84%. The Tunindex20 declined by 0.37% to 8,554.78 points, with an annual increase of 43.17%.

The session was broadly downward-oriented, with 21 stocks rising against 30 falling. Trading on equity securities represented about 5.47 million dinars, including 1.53 million dinars concentrated in a block trade on Amen Bank, i.e., nearly 28% of the total value traded during the equities session.

  • Tunindex : 19,481.18 points, i.e., -0.26% for the session and +44.84% since the start of the year.
  • SOTRAPIL : +5.97%, best rise among the Group 11 stocks traded continuously.
  • Trading : about 5.47 million dinars on equity securities.
  • Amen Bank : a block transaction of 1.53 million dinars accounts for nearly 28% of the amount traded on the shares.

SOTRAPIL leads the gains

Among the shares on the main market traded continuously, SOTRAPIL posted the best performance of the session. The stock moved from a reference price of 30.510 DT to a close of 32.330 DT, a rise of 5.97%.

On the downside, OfficePlast registers the largest drop among the selected values using the same method, at -2.22%.

It is followed by:

  • Banque de Tunisie : -2.01%
  • SOTETEL : -1.75%
  • TPR : -1.71%
  • SFBT : -1.67%

SFBT notably closed at 14.700 DT, versus a reference price of 14.950 DT.

The agri-food and materials sectors decline

At the sector level, the basic materials recorded the largest drop of the day at -0.95%, followed by the agro-food and beverages (-0.93%) and the consumer goods (-0.71%).

Conversely, several sectors finished higher. The insurance index rose by 0.40%, that of the industries by 0.36%, while household and personal care products gained 0.26%.

Banks fell by 0.26% for the session, but their index still shows a year-to-date gain of 51.10%. The Financials index likewise remains up strongly year over year, at +51.55%.

Despite the decline recorded this Thursday, the Tunisian market nonetheless maintains a substantial rise since the start of 2026, with the Tunindex still up 44.84% for the year.
