The General Directorate of the National Guard commemorated, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the seventh anniversary of Commander Najiballah Charni’s death in service, who fell in the line of duty during the terrorist operation that occurred at Haïdra, in the Governorate of Kasserine, on September 2, 2019.
This commemoration aims to honor his memory and to recall the sacrifices made in the framework of protecting the security of the country and its citizens.
A commemoration in homage to his commitment
On this occasion, the General Directorate of the National Guard recalled the qualities of Commander Najiballah Charni, notably his courage, his sense of duty, his devotion and his commitment in carrying out his missions.
The institution stressed that the sacrifices of members of the security forces and the army who fell in the line of duty will remain engraved in the national memory.
Back to the Haïdra operation
Commander Najiballah Charni died on September 2, 2019 following a terrorist operation that occurred in the Haïdra region, in the Governorate of Kasserine, as he was fulfilling his duty.
Seven years after the events, the National Guard renewed its tribute to his memory and recalled the importance of preserving the memory of those who lost their lives in the course of their security missions.
An homage inscribed in the national memory
The General Directorate of the National Guard stated that this date also provides an occasion to recall the values of courage, sacrifice and fidelity to duty associated with Commander Najiballah Charni’s career.
It also paid tribute to all members of the security and military institutions who fell in service, whose sacrifices remain, according to it, a reference for future generations in the service of Tunisia and the protection of its security and stability.
