Written by: Adel Khelifi on October 7, 2026

The steering committee of the study dedicated to the Tunisian electronics industries sector has validated the first three deliverables of this work, during a meeting held recently at the headquarters of the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII).

According to a statement from the Agency, the meeting brought together representatives from the General Directorate of Manufacturing Industries of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy, from the Center for Studies and Research in Telecommunications, from the Technical Center of Mechanical and Electrical Industries, from Innov Alliance Tech, from the Tunisian Automotive Association and from the Tunis Mechatronics Cluster under the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), alongside APII.

The first three deliverables were presented, discussed and then validated. The participants also examined the proposed axes for the development of five occupational profiles, which opens the way to the next steps of the study, in line with the steering committee’s directions.

Position Tunisia as a competitive platform

The study aims to support the development of the Tunisian industrial fabric and to encourage investment in high value-added activities. It should contribute to job creation and wealth and consolidate Tunisia’s position as a competitive platform for the design, manufacture and integration of electronic systems intended especially for European and African markets.

It also aims to identify investment and development opportunities as well as the sector’s promising specialties, and to strengthen the integration of Tunisian companies into value chains related to new technologies and to the mobility, light mobility and energy sectors.

This work is part of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy’s Industrial and Innovation Strategy 2035. It extends the study on promising specialties carried out by APII and GIZ during the 2023-2025 period. It is conducted under the project “Partnerships for Employment and Support to Medium-Sized Enterprises,” implemented by GIZ in partnership with the ministry, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development as part of the special initiative “Training and Employment,” and managed by APII.
