The Turkish company Aksa Composites, specialized in the manufacture of composite materials and components destined for the aerospace industries and part of the Turkish group Akkök, announced the establishment of an industrial project in Tunisia, with an initial investment of 5 million dollars, or about 14.7 million dinars.
This announcement follows the signing of a lease contract for an industrial unit at the Borj Cedria technology park.
The project, whose commissioning is planned for 2028, concerns the development of activities related to the manufacture of composite components and materials intended notably for the aerospace sector.
It will thus be the first project of Aksa Composites on the African continent.
In a statement, the Tunisian Association of Aerospace and Space Industries stressed that the importance of the project lies not only in the magnitude of the investment but also in technology transfer, the development of local skills, and the strengthening of Tunisia’s position within international value chains of advanced materials and the aerospace industry.
The new Borj Cedria industrial site should serve as a starting point for the development of industrial activity in Tunisia, which is expected to gradually expand, according to the same source.
The Akkök group ranks among industrial groups with international experience in the field of composite materials and industrial processes for the aerospace sector as well as high-performance industries.
It has also developed partnerships with several major international companies operating in the aerospace sector.
The signing of the industrial lease contract crowns a process in which several actors from Tunisia’s investment structures contributed, notably the Tunisian Association of Aerospace and Space Industries, the Agency for Promotion of External Investment, and the Borj Cedria technology park, as well as several institutional and professional Tunisian and Turkish partners.
