Weekly Stock Market Update: Tunindex Falls After Uptrend

After a long cycle of gains, the Tunis Stock Exchange ended the week of March 2–6, 2026 on a negative note. The Tunindex posted a 1.5% decline to reach 14,951.24 points, thereby trimming its year-to-date performance to 11.2%.

Despite the absence of block transactions, weekly volumes were relatively solid and rose to 38 million dinars (MD), i.e., an average daily turnover of nearly 7.6 MD.

Stock performance

The STIP stock led the market’s standings. The share jumped 11.7% to 5.530 dinars (D). The stock drew a negligible weekly volume of 10 thousand dinars. The SITS stock found itself at the top of the podium. The share posted the best performance of the week, rising 9% to 3.880 dinars (D), with trading volume essentially nil.

STAR ended as the market’s laggard. The share fell 14.4% to 59.300 D, in a volume of 304 thousand dinars. The SOTRAPIL share, for its part, was poorly oriented for the week. The stock declined 9.2% to 25.100 D, with relatively small capital of 200 thousand dinars.

Ending with a 4.4% drop to 41.100 D, TUNISIE LEASING was the most active stock of the week. Indeed, the share fueled the market with trades of 13 MD over the past week.

News

AETECH – The company informs candidates for the position of administrator representing minority shareholders on the board of directors that the deadline for applications initially set for February 27, 2026 has been extended to March 31, 2026, and the other provisions set out in the January 14, 2026 announcement remain unchanged.

BIAT – The CEO decided, on February 26, 2026, to proceed with the issue of the subordinated bond loan, without recourse to public offering, titled “BIAT Subordinated 2026-1,” for an amount of 200 MD, potentially raised to a maximum of 250 MD. The issue falls within the Bank’s Board decision, meeting on December 19, 2025.

Subscriptions and payments for this subordinated loan will be received from 04/03/2026 at BIAT counters, and will close no later than 23/04/2026. They may be closed, without notice, as soon as the maximum amount of the issue is fully subscribed.

BNA ASSURANCES – As part of its call for candidatures for the position of Independent Director & President of the Audit Committee (Accounts: 2026-2027-2028), the company announced that the deadline for filing dossiers, initially set for March 2, 2026, has been extended to March 19, 2026.
