As part of the monitoring of commercial activity and the control of market supplies of essential goods during the days of Eid al-Adha, the governor of Zaghouan, Karim Bernagi, conducted a field visit in the El Fahs delegation.
The visit covered several outlets selling sacrificial sheep, as well as the city’s central market, where the governor inquired about meat prices and their availability.
Monitoring prices and product quality
Karim Bernagi also reviewed the prices of vegetables and fruits, the quality of the products exhibited for sale, as well as the storage and preservation conditions.
On this occasion, the governor stressed the necessity of stepping up economic and sanitary controls to combat all forms of monopoly and speculation.
Call to strengthen on-the-ground coordination
He also called for ensuring transparency in transactions, adherence to legal prices, and the quality of products offered to citizens.
Furthermore, the governor urged the various regional and local services to strengthen on-the-ground coordination and to intensify daily monitoring during this period marked by high commercial activity.
The objective is to ensure the regular supply of essential goods and to protect the purchasing power of citizens.
