Several governorates in northwestern Tunisia were struck by strong gusts of wind, causing trees to fall and some limited property damage, with no reports of casualties.

The affected regions include Beja, Jendouba, Bizerte, and Le Kef.

Fallen trees in Mateur and Bou Salem

In the Bizerte governorate, reports of trees falling have been recorded in the Mateur delegation.

Similarly, in the Bou Salem delegation, belonging to the Jendouba governorate, several trees fell in different areas.

These incidents required the intervention of Civil Protection personnel and local authorities to clear roads and secure traffic, in order to prevent any risk to road users.

Gusts exceeding 100 km/h

According to the National Institute of Meteorology, wind speeds recorded up to 16:00 reached high levels in several governorates:

93 km/h in Beja
91 km/h in Siliana
92 km/h in Kef
105 km/h in Bizerte

These sustained gusts explain the tree falls observed in certain localities.

Limited property damage

Despite the strength of the winds, the damages reported remain material and limited, according to the initial information available.

The authorities are urging citizens to stay vigilant, especially when traveling, due to the possible persistence of unstable weather conditions.
