Djerba – Zarzis International Airport experienced a real surge in its air traffic in 2025, welcoming more than 2.3 million passengers across 16,777 flights.
These figures reflect a growth of 6.5% in the number of passengers and 2.7% in the number of flights compared with the previous year.
According to data provided by the Ministry of Transport in its response to a written question from Deputy Halim Bousama, this rebound is mainly due to a significant increase in international flights, which recorded an 8.1% rise in passengers and a 5.3% rise in flights compared with 2024, thus confirming the attractiveness of the tourist destination of the Djerba – Zarzis region.
As part of consolidating this attractiveness and developing services, the Ministry of Transport allocated an investment budget of 63.4 million dinars for the 2025-2026 period, followed by additional investments valued at 14.2 million dinars planned for the 2027-2030 period.
These projects focus on modernizing infrastructure and safety equipment, as well as improving operating facilities and service quality, with particular emphasis on adapting to digital transformation and adopting sustainable development standards, to ensure the airport’s position as a leading gateway for the region’s tourism and the southeast of the country.
