Members of the Tunisian Council for Packaged Olive Oil approved the advertising and promotional programs of the companies for the year 2026, at the 35th meeting of the Council, held on Friday, May 8, 2026, under the presidency of Slah Zouari, the Minister of Equipment and Housing, who was acting as the interim head of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy.
This approval aims to support the efforts of companies active in the production and export of packaged olive oil, in order to strengthen the position of Tunisian packaged olive oil on traditional markets and to facilitate its access to promising external markets, notably Canada, the United States, the Gulf Arab countries, China, Russia and Brazil.
The Council also followed up on the execution of the advertising and promotional program for packaged olive oil of general interest for the year 2026, intended to publicize the Tunisian origin of olive oil and to strengthen its competitiveness.
It also examined the progress of organizing the national competition for the prize of the best packaged olive oil for the 2025-2026 season.
It should be noted that exports of packaged olive oil recorded, by the end of March 2026, a 69% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a value of 340 million dinars.
The exported quantities exceeded 20 thousand tonnes in the first quarter of 2026, representing a 95% growth compared to the same period in 2025, when they stood at about 11 thousand tonnes.
