On May 5 and 6, Tunisia hosted the proceedings of the Healthcare IT Forum, the first national event dedicated to the exchange of expertise and to strengthening partnerships among the various players in the health and digital ecosystems.

According to supervisor Riadh Ben Merzou, this inaugural edition is dedicated to exchanging expertise and strengthening partnerships among actors in the health and digital sectors.

The event positions itself as a strategic platform to support the profound transformations of the healthcare sector.

He specified that the forum revolves around a number of major themes, including artificial intelligence in health, through the study of its uses, its limits and its impact on medical practices. Added to these are cybersecurity and data protection issues, notably the securing of hospital systems, laboratories and the pharmaceutical industry.

Also addressing the topics of interoperability of information systems, this program aims to improve data circulation and quality, while strengthening ties between the sectors, public and private. It also emphasizes the digital transformation of healthcare facilities, with the aim of optimizing the patient journey and increasing service efficiency.

Ben Merzou emphasized that the first day is devoted to the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence in medicine, as well as cybersecurity issues in hospital establishments, while the second day will be mainly dedicated to deepening cybersecurity questions.
