The Finance and Budget Committee at the Assembly of the People’s Representatives will hold, this Monday, May 11, 2026, a hearing session with the National Organization of Entrepreneurs, as part of the examination of Bill No. 115/2025 relating to the promulgation of the Foreign Exchange Code.

According to the commission’s program, this session is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. It will allow representatives of the organization to present their observations and proposals around this text with economic and financial implications.

A project related to financial relations with foreign countries

Article 1 of the proposed law specifies that this bill aims to organize Tunisia’s financial relations with foreign countries. The stated objective is to contribute to a greater liberalization of the national economy and to strengthen its integration into the global economy.

The text also emphasizes the need to place this reform within the framework of national strategic development orientations, while preserving the country’s economic balances.

A major issue for investment and entrepreneurship

This proposed law carries particular importance for economic actors, notably companies, investors and entrepreneurs, due to its direct link with financial operations, international transactions and the business climate.

The hearing of the National Organization of Entrepreneurs is part of a process of consulting the parties concerned, in order to enrich parliamentary debate and assess potential repercussions of the text on economic activity.

Towards a reform of the foreign exchange framework

The examination of this project takes place in a context marked by calls to modernize the legal framework governing foreign exchange in Tunisia, in order to adapt it to international economic and financial changes.

The commission’s work is expected to continue before moving on to the next legislative steps, notably the detailed examination of the text and its provisions.
