Ligue 1: beIN Denounces a Conflict of Interest

A few days before the end of its Ligue 1 broadcasting contract, beIN SPORTS strongly criticized the management of LFP Media.

During the channel’s presentation of its setup for the 2026 World Cup, Florent Houzot, the editor-in-chief, regretted the failure of the talks held after DAZN’s departure and confirmed that the Qatari broadcaster will leave the French championship at the end of the season.

« No one notices it, but there is a conflict of interest at LFP Media, within a League that is the organizer of the competition, producer and broadcaster (Ligue 1+) of it and that sells its rights,« said Houzot.

The editorial head of the channel also believes that the leaders of French football “are almost heading for a wall” after several years of contested decisions regarding Ligue 1 broadcasters.
