The Grand Development Project of Ben Ghayadha in Mahdia will be officially presented on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Kram Exhibition Park, within the frame of the International Building and Construction Show – CARTHAGE 2026, on the stand dedicated to the Mahdia region. This presentation is part of an approach to valorize and promote one of the most structuring urban, tourist, and economic projects along the Tunisian coast.
Carried out within a framework of technical assistance to the Tunisian Government for selecting a strategic partner, the project mobilizes several major national institutions, notably the General Public-Private Partnership Body (IGPPP), the Deposits and Consignments Fund (CDC), the Governorate of Mahdia as well as SEBAG.
This meeting organized at the CARTHAGE Show constitutes an important step in the structuring of the project and in strengthening its visibility with national and international investors.
Through this official presentation, the stakeholders aim to highlight the main orientations of a project set to sustainably transform the territory of Mahdia through an integrated approach balancing urban development, tourist attractiveness, environmental valorization, and economic dynamism.
An Integrated Vision to Sustainably Transform the Mahdia Territory
The Ben Ghayadha project rests on a sustainable development vision aimed at bringing forth a new urban and economic centrality to the south of Mahdia. It provides for the creation of modern infrastructures, the development of upscale residential and tourist areas, as well as the layout of a marina and nautical activities designed to strengthen the coastline’s attractiveness.
The project also places significant emphasis on valorizing the region’s historical and environmental heritage, notably through the protection of the lagoon and coastline as well as the enhancement of the Borj Erras historic site. Cultural spaces, leisure zones, and solutions for sustainable and multimodal mobility are also integrated into the master plan to ensure the project’s harmonious integration into its natural and urban environment.
This holistic approach aims to position Ben Ghayadha as a new hub of investment and development capable of strengthening Mahdia’s competitiveness and contributing to Tunisia’s economic and tourist attractiveness.
A Meeting Open to Investors and Development Actors
The presentation organized as part of the International Construction and Building Show – CARTHAGE 2026 will also outline the master plan’s major orientations, the project’s strategic challenges, and the prospects for economic, social, and environmental development for the region.
In parallel, professional meetings, commercial activities, and awareness-raising conferences will be organized to foster exchanges between investors, institutional partners, business operators, and the general public.
This presentation at the International Construction and Building Show – CARTHAGE will bring together public decision-makers, investors, business operators, planning experts, and territorial development actors around an ambitious vision aimed at sustainably redefining Mahdia’s urban, tourist, and economic positioning.
Through this structuring project, Ben Ghayadha establishes itself as one of the most important development initiatives along the Tunisian coast, set to play a major role in regional attractiveness and in Tunisia’s investment dynamics in the coming years.
