The municipality of Tataouine has called on all residents of the city to observe hygiene rules in the management of waste related to Eid al-Adha, by placing them in tightly sealed plastic bags, then into the containers and bins provided for this purpose.

The municipality has also stressed the need not to discard waste in an anarchic manner in public squares, streets, or the beds of wadis, and to avoid discharging residues and the blood of the sacrifices into the sewer networks.

Specific collection of sheep skins

In the same framework, the municipality called on citizens not to discard the skins of sacrificed sheep randomly, along the banks of wadis or with household waste, due to their negative impacts on the environment and public health.

To this end, trucks have been mobilized to collect the sheep skins directly in front of homes, starting from the evening of Eid al-Adha.

The municipality invited residents to keep the skins until the passage of the municipal teams, in order to ensure their removal under the best conditions and to contribute to the success of cleanliness efforts and to the preservation of the city’s aesthetics.

Ongoing interventions across the city

Waste collection operations continue across all areas of the city, throughout the day and according to a rotating system.

Interventions have already been carried out in the city center, on the main roads, in the critical locations and at the weekly market. Works for waste management and burial have also been carried out at the final landfill site.

Furthermore, agents from the Gardening and Environment Company have proceeded with the collection of market waste, as part of efforts to preserve Tataouine’s cleanliness and the quality of its living environment.
