The General Federation of Banks and Financial Institutions, affiliated with the Tunisian General Labour Union, reaffirmed, this Friday, its commitment to the right to unionize and to the right to strike, a few days before the start of the sectoral strike planned for June 23, 24 and 25 of the current year, against the backdrop of the blockage of social negotiations related to salary increases.
It called to « provide all the legal and organizational guarantees necessary to allow workers to exercise their union rights in a climate of freedom and dignity ». It also urged its affiliates to respect the legal and regulatory provisions governing the strike and to participate « de manière consciente et responsable », in accordance with the rules governing the exercise of this right.
It should be recalled that the General Federation of Banks, Financial Establishments and Insurance Companies, affiliated with the Tunisian General Labour Union, had called for a sectoral strike on June 23, 24 and 25, 2026, to protest the blockage of social negotiations related to salary increases.
