The Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia in Beijing announced that, as part of promoting economic diplomacy and the efforts undertaken by the diplomatic mission to encourage and attract foreign investments in Tunisia, Abdelkhalek Dhakkar, a diplomat in charge of the economic cooperation and investment dossier at the embassy, received on July 14, 2026, a delegation from the China-Africa Development Fund (CADFund).

The delegation was led by Li Shibao, director of the Fund’s office for North Africa and East Africa regions.

According to the embassy, this meeting allowed revisiting the main stages of the participation of the regional office delegation of the Fund in Africa in the proceedings of the Tunisia Investment Forum, organized in Tunisia on June 25 and 26, 2026, as well as the various meetings held on that occasion by the Chinese delegation with Tunisian officials and representatives of the private sector.

Discussions also addressed ways to better activate the mechanisms available within the framework of the cooperation between Tunisia and the China-Africa Development Fund, in order to strengthen investments by Chinese companies in Tunisia and to provide financial and technical support to the initiatives and projects of Tunisian small and medium-sized enterprises in several priority sectors for the country’s development process.
