The Primini E-commerce Barometer is an initiative of Primini.tn, a Tunisian price comparator.
Tunisie Numérique, as a media partner, exclusively publishes the results of this monthly barometer, faithfully reflecting the online browsing trends of Tunisian internet users.
The collected data constitute independent content processed by Primini, with no financial compensation tied to the brands cited. These data do not constitute purchasing advice or commercial recommendations.
For this monthly gathering, the search trends and the prices practiced on the Tunisian web were scrutinized. The finding is unequivocal: for the same exact reference, prices from one retailer to another vary widely.
Summer is in full swing, and with it the wedding season and the furnishing of the first home. Good news for the wallet: on the studied typical basket, median prices remain nearly stable. The main gap lies in the choice of offers, item by item.
What to remember
- The sum of the median prices of the Primini-type basket, composed of nine household appliances, reaches 11 161 DT in July.
- By summing, item by item, the gaps between the lowest and highest observed offers, the theoretical difference reaches 1 664 DT, or 14.9% of the basket. The best prices are not all found at the same retailer.
- Five out of nine items keep the same median across the two readings, and none varies by more than 3%.
- The air conditioner selected shows the largest absolute spread in the basket-type: 350 DT between the lowest and highest observed offers.
In July, air conditioners and home equipment dominate the consultations
What do Primini users consult the most during the height of summer? The barometer tracks consultations recorded on the pages of the Primini.tn departments, averaged daily between two fourteen-day windows. The observed consultations clearly reflect the summer season: the air conditioners department is the most consulted among major appliances, with nearly 30,000 consultations over the period. Consultations in the fans department and the air conditioner guide have both more than tripled from one window to the next.
The categories related to home equipment are also among the most consulted on Primini. Refrigerators, washing machines, and stoves accumulate more than 25,000 consultations in the same period. At the same time, the traffic to the stand mixer department falls by 38% on average per day, televisions by 14%, while the refrigerators department grows by 34%. These trends describe the use of Primini and are not an exhaustive measure of national demand.
The couple’s basket: 9 appliances, 9 gaps
For this wedding edition, Primini built a typical basket of nine appliances, tracked in the surveys of June 17 and July 17, 2026. Each reference is widely distributed in the tracked catalog, offered by at least five merchants with prices corroborated in both surveys, and selected without any commercial compensation tied to brands or merchants.
The Samsung 340-liter No Frost combined refrigerator is shown from 2 249 to 2 499 DT, with a median of 2 334 DT among 23 sellers: a 250 DT gap for the same model. The Gree 18 000 BTU Inverter tropicalized hot and cold air conditioner ranges from 2 099 to 2 449 DT, a 350 DT gap and 16.7% of the lowest price. In the observed summer period, this is the largest absolute gap in the basket-type. The Samsung 8 kg Eco-Bubble washing machine ranges from 1 829 to 2 100 DT among 26 merchants, a 271 DT gap for a median of 1 954 DT.
Conversely, the Brandt mixed cooker shows the smallest absolute gap with the water heater: 56 DT. Eleven out of twenty merchants quote exactly 1 149 DT. The Kenwood Prospero 1,000 W stand mixer is listed from 919 to 1 249,99 DT, a 330.99 DT gap for a median of 1 049 DT. The other items lie between 60 and 250 DT gaps.
The sum of median prices reaches 11 161 DT. The theoretical cumulative gap represents 14.9% of this amount. It does not correspond to a discount offered by a single retailer: it results from comparing offers, item by item. Between the two surveys, the observation date barely modified the median prices of this basket-type: five items out of nine show identical medians and none varies by more than 3%.

Several computer products down, affordable smartphones up
This edition collected 605,946 offers from 287 active e-shops, covering 141,347 listed products. Among the 51,584 products present in both surveys, 7,956 meet the strict criteria used for the evolution analysis, each with at least five merchants with corroborated prices. Within this scope, 67.8% of products are classified as stable: the variation of their median price is between -1% and +1%, inclusive. Increases account for 18.6% and decreases 13.6%, for an overall median variation of 0%.

The computer products are heavily represented among the declines published this month. The HP Core 7 laptop drops from 3 239 to 2 299 DT, a -29% decrease and 940 DT less. The MacBook Pro M5 falls from 7 459 to 6 149
Among the peripherals cited, a Redragon mechanical keyboard drops from 249 to 199 DT, a Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 mouse from 499 to 416 DT, an HyperX Cloud III headset from 374 to 319 DT, and an ASUS 240 Hz monitor from 525 to 459 DT. Outside computing, the Arzum Turkish coffee maker drops from 347 to 278 DT and the Kärcher steam cleaner from 489 to 399 DT.
Several affordable smartphones feature among confirmed increases: the Galaxy A07 goes from 399 to 474.21 DT (+18.9%), the Redmi 15C from 529 to 599 DT (+13.2%) and its 5G version from 719 to 839 DT (+16.7%). These increases, ranging roughly from 70 to 120 DT, represent significant percentage changes. Outside telephony, a Midea kitchen robot goes from 204.50 to 237 DT and a Biolux 40-inch TV from 599 to 674 DT.
Price gaps at all budgets, on the same exact model
In absolute terms, the largest basket-type gaps concern the air conditioner (350 DT), the stand mixer (330.99 DT) and the washing machine (271 DT). As a proportion of the lowest price, the ranking changes: the stand mixer reaches about 36%, the microwave 23% and the vacuum cleaner 19%. The cooker shows the smallest relative gap in the basket, around 5%.
The number of sellers does not by itself explain dispersion. The TCL television, available from 42 merchants, shows a 110 DT gap, with 22 merchants priced at 899 DT. The air conditioner, tracked by 23 merchants, shows a gap more than three times this amount. In this basket-type, a high number of merchants is therefore not systematically associated with a small price gap.
Among the 225,727 offers available in the general scope in July, 31.9% are listed at the lowest observed price for their product. In the strictly corroborated scope, this rate stands at 23.3%. For comparisons between sellers, this scope is then limited to merchants with at least 300 offers at corroborated prices: the best rate observed reaches 61.4%, and the twelve best-ranked merchants are between 33.7% and 61.4%. No seller is thus the cheapest across their entire catalog.
Primini’s recommendations for a wedding at a fair price
- Compare the same complete reference. A “340-liter combo” may cover several neighboring models. The manufacturer reference is essential to compare the same product.
- Include delivery and installation. The comparison should cover the total cost delivered to the home, delivery and any installation included.
- Check real availability. A price shown for an unavailable product is not a truly accessible offer. Confirm stock before paying a deposit.
- Check the price history. The levels published here will provide a reference point to evaluate the discounts announced, in addition to the history unique to each product and each merchant.
- Compare warranties and after-sales service. When prices are close, a longer warranty or a structured after-sales service can be more advantageous than a small price gap.
Conclusion: a summer filled with weddings, not with price tags
On the studied basket-type, there is no generalized rise in median prices between the readings of June 17 and July 17. The theoretical sum of gaps by product amounts to 1 664 DT across the nine identical items. The main lever identified by this edition therefore remains comparison, item by item and reference by reference.
This July snapshot will serve as a benchmark for the next edition. As the summer sales approach, promoted prices may be situated relative to the levels observed before their launch, in addition to the history specific to each merchant.
