For the sixth consecutive month, the Money Market Average Rate (TMM) remains in July 2026 at 6.99%, according to indicators published on Friday by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT). As a reminder, the Money Market Average Rate (TMM) stood at 6.99% in June.
This means that the cost of money on the Tunisian banking market remains broadly unchanged. Note that movements in rates directly influence lending, investment, and consumption.
In concrete terms, the TMM is a reference rate that reflects the conditions under which banks lend money to one another in the short term. It is heavily influenced by the monetary policy of the BCT, notably by the policy rate.
As a reminder, the Board of Directors of the BCT decided, at its meeting on 29 July 2026, to keep the Central Bank of Tunisia’s policy rate unchanged at 7.00%.
