The Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) announced, on Monday, August 3, 2026, that it might resort to rolling electricity outages in several areas of Greater Tunis, depending on how the network situation evolves.
According to a company press release, this measure aims to safeguard the safety and continuity of the electrical system, while maintaining the balance between production and consumption.
Power outages between noon and 5:00 PM
Interruptions could occur between 12:00 and 17:00, in intermittent periods not exceeding two hours each.
STEG specifies that power restoration will be automatic, without prior notice.
The affected areas
Outages could affect the following areas:
El Mourouj, Ben Arous, Mégrine, La Manouba, Ain Zaghouan, Ennasr, La Soukra, Sidi Frej, Nouvelle Médina, Borj Touil, Sanhaja, Jedeida, Les Berges du Lac and Jardins d’El Menzah.
The company notes, however, that this list is not definitive and that other areas could be affected according to the evolution of the network and the balance between electricity supply and demand.

STEG invites its customers to take the necessary precautions to minimize the inconveniences related to these possible interruptions.
