Founded in September 2005 by physicians and educators, Ibn Khaldoun University (UIK) celebrates twenty years of history and commitment in higher education in Tunisia.
The University was born from the desire to participate in building the knowledge-based society of tomorrow.
Over the years, it has been built around fundamental values — humanism, passion, curiosity, authenticity and creativity — and today asserts its positioning as an entrepreneurial and technological hub at the intersection of the academic and professional worlds.
A multidisciplinary university, Ibn Khaldoun University now offers programs in six major domains: Computer Science, Business, Law, Architecture, Design and Paramedical Sciences.
UIK thus supports its students in sectors that play a major role in economic and social transformations: artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, digital transformation, management, finance, business law, architecture, design and health professions.
In 2026, the University takes a new step with the launch of its Paramedical Sciences division, complementing an academic offering that is constantly evolving.
This diversity also fosters interactions between disciplines and prepares students for a professional world where technological, managerial, creative and human skills are increasingly complementary.
A hub of entrepreneurship and technology :
UIK places innovation, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship at the heart of its development.
Hackathons, interdisciplinary projects, collaborations with companies, professional certifications and meetings with experts allow students to complement their academic training with concrete experience connected to the realities of the professional world.
The ambition of UIK is to form not only competent graduates but also entrepreneurs, innovators and executives capable of guiding the transformations of their sector.
Concrete international openness:
Internationalization is a major axis of Ibn Khaldoun University’s development.
UIK develops student exchanges, mobility programs and double-degree pathways with several international institutions.
Its partners include Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) in Canada, Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) in Canada, Beijing Polytechnic in China and ESIGELEC in France.
With KPU, UIK is developing a fully funded student exchange program, including housing, living expenses and airfare for selected students.
Partnerships with UQAR, Beijing Polytechnic and ESIGELEC enable the development of double-degree pathways, giving participating students the opportunity to build part of their academic journey abroad and to obtain the diplomas planned within these collaborations.
This internationalization policy offers UIK students an international academic and cultural experience, while strengthening their openness, network and employability.
Two campuses in Tunis:
Ibn Khaldoun University currently has two campuses in Tunis.
Its main campus, located in La Soukra – Chotrana, covers 13,950 m² and hosts its teaching activities, university life and innovation.
UIK also has a building in the heart of Tunis, in the Montplaisir district, strengthening its presence in the center of the capital and its contact with the economic and professional fabric.
Twenty years of history, a vision for the future:
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Ibn Khaldoun University means celebrating a story built with its students, alumni, teachers, partners and collaborators.
It is above all a reaffirmation of a goal: to contribute to building the knowledge-based society of tomorrow by training women and men capable of understanding the transformations of the world, of innovating and of fully taking their place in it.
