The Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic (JORT) No. 84 of August 21, 2026 publishes a significant series of appointments within the structures under the Ministry of Health. In total, 17 officials are designated to head a regional hospital, local hospitals or basic health groups, in several governorates of the country.
These designations result from a decree by the Minister of Health dated July 31, 2026. Their publication in the JORT does not, however, mean that all appointments take effect on August 21: for some officials, the text specifies effect dates dating back to May or June.
A new director for the Béja Regional Hospital
Belgacem Toumi, General Administrator, is entrusted with the functions of Director of the Béja Regional Hospital, with the exceptional grade corresponding to a post of director of central administration.
Two other designations concern basic health groups classified among Category “A” health establishments.
Imed Abaab is tasked with leading the Medinine Basic Health Group, while Mehdi Debbabi takes the helm of the Monastir Basic Health Group.
Six local hospital directions in a first series
The same order also publishes the appointments of six leaders at the head of local hospitals classified in the Ministry of Health’s “B” category.
Karim Kouki is named director of the Haouaria Local Hospital, while Faïza Bsibess takes the helm of the Bembla Local Hospital.
Maher Saïdani is charged with directing the Nefza Local Hospital and Anouar Haïdari that of Ouerdanine.
In Menzel Bouzelfa, Hassen M’barki is designated director of the Fatouma El Imam Local Hospital, while Mehrez Chlaqi takes the direction of the Oueslatia Local Hospital.
Eight other local hospitals involved
A second series published in the same JORT concerns eight additional establishments.
Mohamed Ibrahim is designated director of the Redeyef Local Hospital, with a start date indicated as of May 12, 2026.
Hassen Ben Ali is in charge of the direction of the Kesra Local Hospital, while Abdelhamid Briki takes the direction of the Nebeur Local Hospital, effective from June 30, 2026.
Khalifa Briki is named director of the Sbikha Local Hospital, Khaled Hajji of the Hammamet Local Hospital and Ammar Ghali of the Hbira Local Hospital.
The JORT completes this series with two additional designations: Jamel Hamdani to head the Sbeitla Local Hospital, effective as of June 23, 2026, and Mohamed Ali Blel to lead the Bekalta Local Hospital.
Changes also in several hospital services
The JORT No. 84 is not limited to the leadership of establishments. Another series of designations concerns managerial positions in several regional hospitals.
At the regional hospital of Méjaz El Bab, managers are notably in charge of the procurement and common services, the patient affairs service as well as human resources and legal affairs.
Designations also concern the regional hospital of Nefta, notably for administrative, financial and legal affairs as well as care services; the regional hospital of Sidi Bouzid for billing and the regional hospital of Tozeur for procurement and stock management.
In Kef, several posts are involved, notably in procurement and stock management as well as in evaluating care services. The JORT also mentions managers responsible for human resources in Zaghouan, for care evaluation in Ben Arous and Siliana, as well as various administrative and hospital functions in Gafsa.
At the regional hospital Sadok Mokaddem of Djerba, one designation concerns maintenance, safety and hygiene.
Biomedical maintenance also concerned
The same issue of the JORT also publishes four designations at the Centre for Technical Studies and Biomedical and Hospital Maintenance.
These concern the direction of administrative and financial affairs, the direction of engineering, studies and management of biomedical and hospital technologies, the management of the regional center for biomedical and hospital maintenance in Sfax, as well as the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
This series of decisions thus outlines an administrative movement that touches both the leadership of health establishments, patient management, procurement, human resources and maintenance of medical equipment.
