The secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, stated that « Tout pays participant à la mise en place de restrictions économiques » against Iran will be « considéré comme un ennemi ».

If the countries concerned refused to « prendre leurs distances » with the United States, Iran would « atteinte » to their interests », he added.
« We have not yet attacked any American economic interests » and « so far, we have targeted only military bases, but if they want to impose economic sanctions on us, the United States possesses oil and economic companies around Iran and elsewhere, and we will strike them », continued Mr. Rezaei.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry had on Thursday accused the United States of « terrorisme économique », after American Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent vowed that Washington would « s’effondrer le régime » of Iran with the new sanctions.
Mr. Bessent was due to hold a press conference on Monday on how the United States plans to increase the pressure further, nearly six months after the start of the war, triggered by an Israeli-American attack on Iran.
Washington has urged other governments, including Beijing, to join efforts to isolate the Iranian economy. But China, a strategic economic partner for Iran, criticized this initiative, arguing that American « sanctions et la pression » would not resolve the conflict in the Middle East.
Among Iran’s major trading partners are also the United Arab Emirates, which on Tuesday announced the suspension, until further notice, of « all commercial exchanges and financial transactions » with the country.
