Tunisia Participates for the First Time in the 5th International Technology Exhibition in Riyadh

Tunisia is taking part, for the first time, in the 5th edition of the International Technology Exhibition, which is held in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, from August 31 to September 3. This participation is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Tunisian presence on the international technology stage and to open new horizons for Tunisian companies active in information and communications technology as well as in innovation, especially in the Saudi market and in the Gulf Cooperation Council member states.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Center for Export Promotion (CEPEX), Tunisian participation aims to highlight the country’s technological capabilities and competencies and to consolidate its position in regional markets, with a particular focus on the Saudi market, regarded as an important gateway to the Gulf markets.

It also seeks to accompany Tunisian companies in exploring new export opportunities and in establishing technological and commercial partnerships, while facilitating exchanges with investors and regional and international financing funds, as well as with the major global companies present in Riyadh.

CEPEX leads the Tunisian national participation in this international event, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications Technologies, as part of a prospecting mission. Tunisia has an 18-square-meter national pavilion, bringing together several entities active in the technology ecosystem, innovation, and startup support, including “Tunisia Smart Technoparks” and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, as well as six Tunisian companies operating in promising technological fields.

The participating companies cover several sectors, notably deep tech, cybersecurity, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data, AI-based autonomous robotics, Industry 4.0 applications, and solutions using artificial intelligence for managing environmental impact, as well as consulting and digital services aimed at international markets.

The Tunisian participation has attracted the interest of numerous professionals, investors, and Saudi and international visitors, reflecting the attractiveness of Tunisian technological solutions and services, as well as the diversity of the national offering and its capacity to meet the needs of regional and international markets.

On this occasion, a series of business meetings and professional exchanges were organized between the participating companies and several players in the Saudi market, opening promising prospects for the establishment of new partnerships, particularly in the fields of information and communications technology and innovation.

This participation is part of the dynamic currently observed in Tunisia’s digital sector and startup ecosystem. The country now counts more than 1,450 startups, including 1,165 with labels and 17 scale-ups, for a combined turnover estimated at 300 million dollars.

The International Technology Exhibition ranks among the world’s leading events specialized in technology and innovation. It attracts more than 200,000 visitors from over 180 countries, as well as more than 1,800 international technology brands.

The fifth edition of the expo is held under the slogan “Towards New Worlds,” with the participation of major global technology companies, startups, investors, and decision-makers. It places particular emphasis on several priority technology areas, including artificial intelligence, fintech, smart cities, and sustainability.
