Units of the Monastir National Guard arrested a man in his forties; he had attacked four members of his family (his wife, his mother-in-law, his brother-in-law and his minor daughter) with a rifle and a bladed weapon, according to statements by the deputy public prosecutor and official spokesperson for the Monastir Court of First Instance, Mohamed El Mekki Farj.
These assaults resulted in the death of the wife, shot dead, while the other family members suffered injuries to varying degrees and are currently hospitalized, reports Mosaïque FM this Monday, August 31.
The prosecutor’s office has mobilized the examining judge to conduct the investigations; the charges are grave: voluntary homicide with premeditation, attempted voluntary homicide with premeditation, carrying and possession of firearms and bladed weapons without authorization.
The investigation continues to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy and the motives of the killer.
