The economic control teams under the Regional Directorate of Commerce and Export Development of Nabeul seized 120,000 bottles of mineral water during August 2026. They also recorded 77 economic offenses related to speculation and illegal price increases, according to the regional director, Sihem Mabrouk.

Controls at all levels of the distribution
In a statement given on Friday to the TAP agency, Sihem Mabrouk indicated that several illegal practices had been observed in the mineral water distribution circuits.
Four economic control teams were mobilized. They carried out 134 on-site visits and intensive interventions with various actors in the distribution chain, including wholesalers, retailers, kiosks, cafés, and unregulated warehouses.
These operations resulted in the seizure of the announced quantities and the recording of 77 economic offenses.
More than 282,000 bottles distributed in two days
To restore the regularity of mineral water supply, the regional commerce services supervised, over the past two days, the intensive distribution of 282,136 bottles.
This operation was carried out in coordination with security services, under the supervision of regional and local authorities and with the support of the central services of the Ministry of Commerce and Export Development.
It is part of a special supply program envisaging mobilization of exceptional quantities to meet the needs of residents in the different delegations of the governorate. The plan also aims to satisfy the needs of professional sectors and to preserve the balance of distribution circuits.
Back-to-school season: 21 offenses in three days
Regarding preparations for the new school year, the regional director clarified that control teams were continuing their interventions in the distribution circuits of subsidized notebooks and school textbooks.
During the first three days of September, 21 economic offenses were recorded. They concerned in particular conditional selling, the refusal to sell, the quality of some school products, and the marketing of goods of unknown origin.
Control operations will continue to combat practices of speculation and hoarding in sectors considered essential.
