Tunis Stock Exchange: Tunindex Falls 0.32%, Three Banks Among Biggest Losers

The Tunis Stock Exchange closed Thursday, September 10, 2026, in decline. The market was penalized by consumer stocks and by a marked pressure on several banking names, amid thin trading.

The Tunindex settled at 19,090.19 points, down 0.32%. The Tunindex20 fell by the same margin, to 8,340.31 points. Since the start of the year, the benchmark index still shows a rise of 41.93%, according to the BVMT’s official bulletin.

The essentials of the session

Of the 75 listed companies, 19 advanced and 36 declined; 9 remained unchanged, 9 did not trade, and 2 were suspended.

The turnover on equity capital of the market reached 6.539 million dinars, for 549,960 shares and 2,253 transactions. No block transaction was recorded. With 20,000 dinars in registrations, the session total stands at 6.559 million dinars.

This volume remains below the pace observed in September. Excluding block trades, the average stands at about 8.3 million dinars per session since the start of the month, according to BVMT’s cumulative data (TN calculation).

The market capitalization stands at 47.149 billion dinars, up 36.01% year-to-date. The Tunindex is now roughly 11.4% below its annual high of 21,552.73 points, reached on July 17 (TN calculation).

Liquidity was heavily concentrated in a few names. BNA generated 1.991 million dinars, just over 30% of equity turnover, ahead of UBCI with 607,048 dinars, Smart Tunisie with 430,334 dinars, SAH with 344,357 dinars and Monoprix with 306,964 dinars. Together, these five stocks account for about 56% of turnover during the session (TN calculation).

On the investor side, OPCVM funds were net buyers of around 276,000 dinars, based on the buy/sell flows recorded by the session’s dynamics (TN calculation).
