Tunisia has received 6,675.1 million dinars, equivalent to 1,979.51 million euros, in remittances from its migrants since the start of the year and up to September 20 of this year, according to the latest monetary and financial indicators published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT). These transfers constitute one of the country’s main sources of foreign currency.
In volume terms, remittances rose by 5.2% compared with the same period last year, during which they stood at 6,344.9 million dinars.
For reference, transfers made by Tunisian nationals living abroad recorded, in 2025, an increase of 15.2% compared with 2024, reaching 11,445 million dinars, or 6.6% of GDP.
Among the Arab countries that received the most remittances from their diasporas cited in a report by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Tunisia ranks fifth.
