A campaign aimed at strengthening the monitoring of road traffic offenses was launched about a week ago, according to Mohamed Ali Kssem, a member of the national bureau of the Tunisian Association for Road Safety.

Civilian officers to observe road-user behaviors

In a statement given to “Tunisie Numérique” on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, Mohamed Ali Kssem indicated that the traffic police would resort, as part of this campaign, to civilian officers to identify offenses and road-user behaviors. The observed facts are also documented by photographs, he noted.

A measure presented as a preventive tool

According to the association official, this initiative aims to reduce offenses and strengthen the monitoring of behaviors on the road, notably in Tunis, where several violations of traffic rules were reported.

He added that this measure is part of efforts to improve road safety and to combat behaviors contrary to the Traffic Code.
