The presidency of the Republic announced that President Kaïs Saïed presided, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Carthage Palace, over a meeting of the Council of Ministers dedicated to several questions related to the general situation of the country, as well as to the draft finance laws and the economic budget for the year 2027.

At the opening of the meeting, the head of state stressed that investment could bear fruit only in a climate of social stability based on justice and equity. He insisted that meeting the needs of citizens, in all domains and in all regions, would remain at the top of the priorities.

Referring to the draft finance bill for the coming year, the President highlighted the directions it contains in favor of social justice and the easing of the tax burden.

He said that divergences of opinion around this project were natural, while affirming that “there can be no disagreement about the homeland, nor is it a question of neglecting the citizens’ right to a decent life”.

The head of state also stressed that citizens are not mere numbers, but human beings endowed with natural rights that every official must guarantee. He called to remove obstacles hindering the realization of these rights, while keeping constantly in mind the sacrifices of the martyrs, the suffering of the wounded, as well as the aspirations and hopes of the Tunisian people.

Moreover, Kaïs Saïed affirmed that the Tunisian people today expect concrete achievements commensurate with their expectations and aspirations, ensuring that these would not be disappointed.

He reaffirmed that the State would continue its action and that the popular will would be translated into reality.

Finally, the President of the Republic addressed a warning to those who, according to his words, think they can blackmail the State or disrupt the normal functioning of its institutions.

He stated that they “are barking up the wrong tree,” adding that “the full moon will shine, that enemies and their allies, in the shadows as in broad daylight, inside and outside the country, whether they like it or not.”
