Written by: Adel Khelifi on October 17, 2026

We now know the referee who will oversee the smooth conduct of the North African derby between Libya and Tunisia for the third matchday of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The match, scheduled for November 17, 2026 at 16:00 GMT at the Tripoli International Stadium, will be officiated by Beninese Adissa Ligali. He will be assisted by his compatriots Salim Alao and Detondji Joel Cortel Dodemtin.

Finally, a Beninese will occupy the role of the fourth official: Hans Romuald Yazid Bassadin, while Moroccan Jamel Kaaouachi will be the match commissioner.

Who is Adissa Ligali?
The 40-year-old referee regularly oversees matches in the Benin championship, but also international fixtures.

He has officiated three matches in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers: Guinea-Bissau vs Eswatini (1-0), Gabon vs Lesotho (0-0) and Sudan vs Angola (0-0).

He has also refereed several matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, notably Tunisia – Liberia (3-0) and Libya – Cameroon (1-1).

Group H standings
Tunisia were held to draws twice by Uganda (1-1) and Botswana (2-2), ranking third in Group H with 2 points.

Libya drew at home with Botswana (2-2) before losing in Uganda (1-0). An unfavorable result in a group where only one team will qualify, with the Cranes already qualified as co-hosts.
