Written by: Adel Khelifi on October 23, 2026

The public selling price of parboiled rice imported by private operators is fixed at 3,900 dinars per kilogram, and that of basmati at 6,900 dinars. These rates have applied since October 20, 2026, according to the Ministry of Trade and Export Development.

The ministerial decision, dated October 12, also sets the prices at other stages of distribution. For parboiled rice, the rate is 3,500 dinars per kilo at the point of sale by importers or packagers, then 3,650 dinars at the wholesale trade stage.

For basmati, these two tariffs are respectively set at 6,500 and 6,650 dinars per kilo. The scope of the decision concerns these varieties imported by private operators.

Before any rice import, operators must file their legal and technical dossiers with the central services of the ministry responsible for Trade, in accordance with the required conditions. These can be consulted with the ministry, on its website or on its official pages.

The ministry specifies that violations of the provisions of this decision will be observed, pursued and sanctioned in accordance with the applicable laws.
