The 10th edition of the Pomegranate Festival began in Testour, in the Béja Governorate, with a scientific conference dedicated to preserving the quality of the fruit, its valorization, and its commercialization.

Up to 500,000 visitors expected

The city hosts visitors from various regions of Tunisia and from abroad. Nearly 500,000 people are expected during the festival’s duration, according to a correspondent of Tunisie Numérique in Béja.

Direct sales and activities

The program includes direct producer-to-consumer sales points, where visitors can buy pomegranates at preferential prices. Artistic evenings and other activities are also planned in order to boost the region’s tourist and economic activities.

The organizers also intend to highlight the agricultural particularities of Testour and its pomegranate production.
