This story may seem unbelievable; Paul Pierce currently finds himself in a financially complicated situation. According to several documents obtained by the American media TMZ, the former NBA player for the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets is “flat broke.”

According to his lawyer, “he is financially drowning” even though he has earned more than $200 million over his career in the most prestigious and lucrative North American basketball league. The termination of his contract with Fox, where he provided his expertise in a consulting role, has weakened him.

Having been paid up to $120,000, since last August Paul Pierce has had no salary.

A real blow for a man whose monthly expenses prove to be enormous. In addition to the $28,000 alimony, he must also pay $20,000 to his ex-wife.

To these generous sums one must add $8,000 for child custody, $7,000 devoted to his groceries, $5,000 for his personal shopping, $3,500 spent on entertainment, $3,200 in charges as well as $1,000 he allocates to renewing his wardrobe.

Furthermore, his ex-partner is demanding an additional $40,000 to cover her legal fees and $10,000 to pay for the services of a specialist who would calculate the costs and lifestyle of the former forward/guard. Through his lawyer, Paul Pierce has indicated that he is not able to part with such an amount.

Paradoxically, he readily acknowledged holding $300,000 in his bank accounts and also owning real estate with a total value that peaks at three million dollars.

The man who was nicknamed “The Truth” on NBA courts was crowned champion in 2008 with the Boston Celtics.

A title for which he was the main architect, the Finals MVP. Selected ten times to the All-Star Game, he was also inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.
