The National Institute for Standardization and Industrial Property (INNORPI) and the Algerian National Institute of Industrial Property have examined ways to strengthen cooperation between their respective networks of Technology and Innovation Support Centers (CATI).
The discussions notably focused on the exchange of expertise, training and support for researchers and inventors, as well as on improving access to technological information and to patent databases.
During a coordination meeting held remotely on Thursday, the two parties agreed on the importance of developing joint initiatives in the areas of training, awareness-raising and experience sharing. These actions aim to strengthen the capacities of the CATI networks in both countries and to improve the services offered to researchers, innovators and businesses.
According to a statement from INNORPI, the meeting was opened in the presence of Ahmed Othman Mohamed Salem, Director of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) External Office in Algeria, who chaired the official opening of this meeting.
Participants also highlighted the role of Technology and Innovation Support Centers in promoting innovation, notably through facilitating access to technological information and to patent databases. These resources enable researchers, inventors and businesses to exploit the available technical data and to develop their innovative projects.
The exchanges also addressed prospects for implementing joint activities in the areas of training, awareness-raising and sharing of expertise, as well as strengthening support for researchers, inventors, innovators and businesses.
This cooperation aims to support technology transfer, valorize the results of scientific research, and promote the culture of industrial property in Tunisia and Algeria, through the development of partnerships and joint initiatives between the networks of Technology and Innovation Support Centers in the two countries.
