The Tunisian coach Khaled Ben Yahia could finally continue his adventure at MC Alger. According to information from “Compétition”, the technician has agreed to stay in technical command for the home match against USM Khenchela, after a meeting with the leaders on Wednesday, October 28. The prospect of a longer collaboration is taking shape, even if details still need to be discussed.
An agreement for the Khenchela appointment
The exchanges reportedly began around 5 p.m. and lasted nearly two hours. Initially hesitant, the coach would have asked for time to reflect before consulting his entourage, then giving his approval in the evening.
Ben Yahia must thus lead MCA against USMK, on Saturday October 31 at 16:00, at the Ali-Ammar Stadium in Douéra. A new meeting with the managers is planned after this match in order to specify the conditions for continuing his mission.
The players’ support weighed
Ben Yahia had initially indicated his departure from the club following the double confrontation against Enugu Rangers. The management had then asked him to ensure the trip to Biskra, due to a lack of time to organize his succession.
After the victory achieved Tuesday against USB (1-0), several players would have asked him to revert his decision. These signs of trust, added to the support of part of the supporters, would have contributed to changing his position.
The Doyen regains a positive momentum
On the pitch, the Doyen has just chained two important results. He first overturned Enugu Rangers (3-0), after a 2-0 defeat in the away leg, to reach the CAF Champions League group stage.
The victory at Biskra, thanks to Siriman Konaté, has then brought his total to ten points in four Ligue 1 Mobilis matches: three wins and one draw. With three games in hand, MCA still has room to climb the standings. Continuity on the bench could help sustain this momentum.
