Delay in Hearing Scheduled for Yassir Zamel Case until October 27th
In a recent development, Attorney Sami Ben Ghazi, representing former presidential candidate Yassir Zamel, announced this Monday, June 30, 2025, that the preliminary court of “Tunis 2” has decided to postpone the hearing related to Zamel’s case, along with his aide Swaar Barqawi, until October 27th.
According to sources familiar with the situation, this postponement concerns allegations of “forging signatures” related to Zamel’s 2024 presidential campaign. The delay was granted at the request of the defense team, who cited the need to present the formal legal copies of the same court rulings previously issued in this case. The reason given is that Zamel was tried before the same court in connection with this very matter, and the defense team wanted to ensure that all procedural documents are properly prepared and available for review.
