ARP: July 10 Plenary Session to Review Two Guarantee Agreements Related to Loans Granted to STEG

The president of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP) presided, on Tuesday morning, July 7, 2026, over a meeting of the Bureau of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People, in preparation for the session scheduled for Friday, July 10.

The discussions focused on the unified report of the Finance and Budget Committee regarding two bills for which emergency consideration had been requested. The first concerns the approval of the guarantee agreement concluded on November 3, 2025, between the Tunisian Republic and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, relating to the loan granted to the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company, in order to contribute to financing the program for improving efficiency, performance, and governance of the energy sector in Tunisia, No. 38/2026.

The second bill concerns the approval of the guarantee agreement concluded on November 3, 2025, between the Tunisian Republic and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in its capacity as the entity responsible for the implementation of the Clean Technology Fund, relating to the loan granted to the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company, in order to contribute to financing the program for improving efficiency, performance, and governance of the energy sector in Tunisia, No. 39/2026.

The Bureau of the Parliament decided to refer both bills to the plenary session scheduled for Friday, July 10, 2026.
