Joint teams for economic control in Bizerte, in coordination with the National Authority for Sanitary Safety of Food Products (INSSPA), conducted, on Friday, an inspection campaign targeting various sales outlets in the city.

This operation led to the seizure of 650 kilograms of pomegranates and 200 kilograms of oranges, which were subsequently reinjected into legal commercial circuits, in coordination with the economic control services under the regional directorate of commerce.

Moreover, the inspection teams seized 950 kilograms of potatoes unfit for consumption. They also carried out a provisional seizure of about 4.7 tonnes of potatoes, placed at the disposal of the National Authority for Sanitary Safety of Food Products in Bizerte, to verify their compliance with sanitary safety standards.

A series of coercive measures and legal sanctions were also imposed on the owners of the affected goods.
