Owner of Napoli since 2004, Aurelio De Laurentiis has received a massive buyout offer from the United States.

According to The Athletic, an American consortium named Underdog Global Partners has submitted an offer estimated at around two billion euros to acquire the Italian club.

The Italian producer, who had revived Napoli after its bankruptcy in Serie C and had overseen, among other things, two Serie A titles, would nevertheless prefer not to sell at the moment.

Despite this refusal, discussions have continued for several months, with the American consortium also seeing Napoli as a strategic lever to strengthen its bid for a future NBA Europe franchise.
