The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, carried out, this Thursday 15 October 2026, a tour through several streets of the city of Bizerte, on the occasion of his visit to the region to preside over the official ceremony commemorating the 63rd anniversary of Evacuation Day.
During this on-the-ground visit, the head of state spoke directly with several citizens, taking the time to listen to their concerns and their requests.
This tour is part of the Evacuation Day commemorations, celebrated each year on October 15, in memory of the departure of the last French troops from Tunisian territory in 1963.
Earlier in the morning, the President of the Republic had presided over the official ceremony organized in Bizerte on this occasion.
Kaïs Saïed had notably saluted the national flag to the sound of the Tunisian anthem, inspected a guard of honor from the national army, and laid a wreath at the foot of the commemorative monument, before the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs.
