Housing remains the main concern for Spaniards, according to the latest barometer from the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), released on Tuesday. Despite a slight decline of 2.2 points compared with the previous month, this issue remains at the top of the concerns expressed by those surveyed.

Meanwhile, concerns related to the economic situation continue to rise, the economic crisis occupying second place with 24.9% of mentions, up 2.5 points. This trend is corroborated by the indicators related to employment, with job quality reaching 19.2% of concerns, while unemployment climbs to 15.8%. The survey also highlights a rise in the migratory issue, which now occupies the fourth position with 15.5% of citations.

On its side, citizen insecurity increases by 2.8 points to stand at 8.5%. Regarding governance issues, concern related to corruption and fraud stands at 8.9%, while concerns about political problems and the behavior of the ruling class recede slightly, at 13.9% and 9.6% respectively.

Regarding the perception of the national economic situation, pessimism remains majority, 52.8% of respondents judging it as “bad” or “very bad”, against 38.1% with favorable opinions. On a personal level, while 38.8% of citizens say they are affected by the economic crisis, nearly 65% nevertheless believe that their financial situation remains satisfactory.
