The Ministry of the Interior called on Saturday evening for citizens to observe a series of recommendations in order to preserve their safety and shield themselves against the risks associated with the expected weather disturbances, which could be accompanied by heavy rains capable of causing a rise in the levels of certain wadis and watercourses.
In a statement, the ministry recommends, first and foremost, exercising caution, respecting safety rules and avoiding crossing the wadis and waterways, regardless of their level or flow. It also calls not to attempt to cross roads and points where water has accumulated, and not to approach wadis and low-lying areas during rainfall.
The ministry additionally asks citizens to respect traffic rules, notably by using the appropriate lights, including fog lights and hazard lights, and not to park vehicles in zones exposed to water flows.
Road users are also urged to adjust their speed, to increase vigilance at the wheel, to yield to pedestrians, to respect safe following distances, and to remain calm and prudent while driving.
The ministry also stresses the need to follow the instructions of on-site officers, to keep the way clear for emergency vehicles and ambulances and not to hinder their movements.
The Ministry of the Interior further calls on citizens to follow the statements and alerts published by the competent authorities, noting that all necessary human and material resources have been mobilized to inform, guide and assist road users.
