The first part of the digital platform aimed at long-term unemployed people is ready, according to Abderrazek Aouidet, president of the Education Commission in the Assembly of the Representatives of the People. The deputy also indicated that the 2027 budget project envisages about 35,000 recruitments in the public service, some of which could be reserved for people covered by the law.
The rest of the platform awaits regulatory texts
In a statement to Tunisia Numérique, Abderrazek Aouidet clarified that the first phase of the platform had been developed in coordination with the Ministry of Communication Technologies. It will allow candidates to register and input their personal data.
The completion of the platform remains linked to the publication of regulatory texts governing the application of the law. According to the deputy, the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training explained that their publication was delayed to ensure that no candidate is excluded.
Three institutions involved in the application of the law
According to Aouidet, the implementation of the device requires the coordination of three parties: the Presidency of the Government, responsible for publishing the regulatory texts; the Ministry of Communication Technologies, responsible for the platform; and the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, which will oversee the registration of the people concerned.
The deputy clarified that the creation of the platform did not necessarily entail the opening of additional credits by the Ministry of Finance for an initial wave of recruitments. The proposal is instead to reserve a portion of the planned recruitments for long-term unemployed, while the other positions would be filled through ordinary competitive processes.
The approximately 35,000 recruitments announced for 2027 are presented by Aouidet as a possibility to take into account the people targeted by the law. Their attribution to this category is not presented as guaranteed.
An administrative composition for the Higher Council of Education
Regarding the Higher Council of Education, Aouidet believes that the announced composition is, at this stage, of an administrative nature. It would include a Secretary General and several administrative officials, as well as a political oversight bringing together the Ministers of Culture, Youth and Sports, Education, Higher Education and Religious Affairs.
According to the deputy, the first meetings of the Council will be chaired by the Minister of Culture, as the oldest member, while awaiting the designation of its actual president. He added that the full setup of the body still required time and the completion of the texts governing its operation.
