The president of the provisional steering committee of the Jeunesse Sportive de Kairouan, Mohamed Liouane, held on Tuesday evening, March 24, 2026 a press conference during which he outlined his assessment of the difficult situation facing the club’s first football team, due, according to him, to refereeing injustices that influenced the club’s results at this stage of the competition.

Mohamed Liouane indicated that the provisional steering committee and the supporters will submit a protest petition to the President of the Republic.

It was also decided to suspend the activity of all categories, starting with the youth teams from next week, to withdraw confidence from the National Refereeing Directorate, as well as to initiate criminal and judicial proceedings against referees whose involvement in manipulating the results of the Jeunesse Sportive de Kairouan’s matches would be established.

He added that JS Kairouan will officially request the designation of foreign referees for the remainder of its league matches, noting that integrity has failed and that the trust in the referees, the designation commission, and the National Refereeing Commission, chaired by Jamel Himoudi, is now broken.
